To start the ball rolling I would suggest general sections along the lines of Sessions, Tunes, Recordings, Artists, Events, Songs, Dance and Links to other sites.

I think I have the bare essentials set up now. Creating and editing account is possible, the script to render abc as sheet music seems to work well and looks pretty and each of the main sections are set up. I have added most of the tunes from the O'Regan's site. I would still like to investigate how easy it would be to set up a discussion board but I'll see how it goes.

What happes if the site gets HUGE?

Not sure if that ever will happen but I thought I would collect links relevant to information content ideas so here's one: Folksonomies

1) When I clicked on the Guidelines link in the toolbox after viewing Sessions info, the Sessions heading stayed! :-$

2) It would be nice to have a recent changes link to see what has been changed while we have been elsewhere.

3) I tend to stick with ABC 1.6 when posting tunes, but am increasingly making use of ABCPlus for its versatility. Perhaps some advice regarding different versions of the standard would help?

4) Would it be possible to put more info against editor names optionally? i.e. I post ABC tunes on my blog at http://360.yahoo.com/kittybriton which might be of interest to people visiting here.

5) Be prepared for the site to get HUGE! Wikis are great for making that kind of thing happen.

I think you have won the prize for being the only person I don't meet in the pub regularly who has put something up here :-) Nice going.

There is a Guidelines page for each section. If you click on the Guidelines from the Sessions section, you'll stay in the Sessions section. Maybe that's not perfect. I could add a link from each sections guidelines to the main page guidelines.

There is a recent changes link and an all recent changes link at the bottom of the page.

I cobble together enough abc to get my tune on. I'm not geeky enough to know the different versions I'm afraid.

I had thought to make it possible for anyone to edit their own page just like a regular page. Then you could put all the info and links that were appropriate. Don't have time just now but it's definitely on my to-do list. By all means add your blog link to the links section of the site.

Someone recently pointed out a bigger, better, more professionally backed wiki at Folkopedia(approve sites) but what the heck. You can never have to many tunes :-) I doubt whether this site will attract all that much attention, but you never know - you found it!
